Ryan DeVries received the 2013-2014 Playoff MVP from Kelly Zacharias (CIHL Executive).

It was an exciting weekend in Williams Lake with Game 2 of the series on Saturday. The home town Stampeders came out hard against the Steelies looking to even the series. The first period ended with the Stamps up 2-1. The second period saw the Stamps continue their fast pace and the period ended at 4-1. The Steelies started to press more in the third period trying to get back into the game but couldn’t muster enough fire power and lost the game 8-4.

With the series tied at a game apiece the final was set for the CIHL Playoff Championship to be decided on Sunday. The fans in Williams Lake were treated to some high calibre fast paced hockey with both teams wanting to win. After the first period the teams were tied at 1-1 with Tyler Perreault stopping a penalty shot by Jassi Sangha. The second period continued with some excellent hockey and the scored knotted at 2-2. This set the stage for an exciting third period with twenty minutes to decide the CIHL Playoff Champion. The Steelies came out determined to make it a threepete of being CIHL Playoff Champions and with a continued team effort, strong goaltending from Perreault and scoring from Darryl Young the final score ended up 5-2 SMITHERS STEELHEADS!

Darryl Young ended the game with 4 goals!

Ryan DeVries was named the Playoff MVP for his outstanding defensive play and offensive contributions.
